upcoming,
ongoing, and stuff that's less than a year old
I am currently involved in designing a new barn at the Ridge which will serve as a studio and show room. That is, if it is ever approved by the county... Maker Faire, San Mateo, 2007-- absolutely amazing. Sisyphus IV traveled to Belgium, for the "Robotix" exhibition at Pass- Parc d'aventures scientifiques, March 30 to April 22, 2007. "Magnetic Visions" -- I returned Nov. 26, from London, where I set up Sisyphus IV for the opening of a six-week show at Kinetica (a new museum devoted to kinetic and technologic art).
"Ribbon Dancer" -- large scale commission for the new Science Center of Iowa; November 17, 2006. My new neighbor in Sebastopol, Ned Kahn, invited me to join him in a show at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts, Sept. 21-Oct. 29, 2006. The show's title: "Particles in Motion." Ned's work has long been an inspiration to me. "Pipedream III" -- high-resolution embolograph (bubble raster), capable of capturing faces. Installed at the Science Centre of Ontario, in Toronto. June, 2006. I am tentatively scheduled to write a DIY article on Eggbot for MAKE magazine. Amazingly, O'Reilly Media, Inc. is located right in my new hometown-- Sebastopol! I was invited to participate on a panel and speak about motion control, at the Public Art Network meeting, in Milwaukee, June 1,2. "The Ridge" -- a Thanksgiving trip to the Bay Area in 2004 unexpectedly leads to finding a place in Sonoma County where we will build a new studio space and eventually call home. |
